Spinal cord injuries (SCI) remain a significant yet largely preventable public health concern in India. As of 2025, an estimated 1.5 million people are living with SCI, with nearly 20,000 new cases reported each year. A large proportion of these injuries result from road traffic accidents and falls—many of which could be prevented through greater awareness and safer practices.
Despite their life-altering impact, awareness around the causes, risks, and long-term consequences of spinal cord injuries remains limited. We address this gap through interactive workshops conducted in schools, colleges, communities, and workplaces, equipping individuals with knowledge to make safer choices.
We also emphasize the importance of correct emergency response. Improper handling after an accident can worsen spinal damage. Our sessions train participants on safe practices such as minimizing unnecessary movement, ensuring spinal stabilization, and seeking timely medical care—helping reduce the risk of secondary injury and improving outcomes.
Road accidents remain one of the leading causes of preventable deaths and injuries in India, with the country recording among the highest number of road fatalities globally. In 2023 alone, over 4.8 lakh road accidents resulted in approximately 1.7 lakh deaths—equivalent to nearly 20 lives lost every hour. Additionally, around 33% of these incidents lead to grievous injuries, often resulting in long-term disabilities.
A significant proportion of those affected are young adults between the ages of 18 and 45, accounting for over 66% of total victims. This makes road safety not only a critical public health concern but also a pressing socio-economic challenge, impacting the nation’s most productive population.
Through our My Road, My Responsibility initiative, we work to address this challenge by promoting road safety education and responsible behaviour across communities. We design and deliver structured programs that foster accountability, enhance risk awareness, and encourage informed decision-making on the road.
Our outreach engages students, young drivers, parents, educators, and community members—building a collective sense of responsibility and nurturing a culture of safer road use across India.
Prevention must be complemented by inclusion. We promote disability awareness through structured sensitization programs across schools, colleges, and corporate workplaces.
Our approach integrates disability inclusion within broader Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) frameworks, enabling systemic, sustainable change and fostering environments where individuals of all abilities are respected, included, and empowered.
Mental health challenges in India’s workforce are widespread and growing. A survey by Deloitte (2022 India Mental Health Survey) found that around 80% of Indian employees reported mental health issues in the past year, with almost half reporting a direct impact on productivity. Beyond individual well-being, these challenges contribute to significant economic losses due to absenteeism, reduced performance, and healthcare costs—making workplace mental health a critical priority for organizations.
Workplaces play a pivotal role in shaping individual well-being and organizational success. Through our Healthy Mind @ Work initiative, led by our Co-founder Lipika Khatana, we partner with organizations to foster mentally healthy, inclusive, and supportive work environments across India.
Our approach focuses on integrating well-being with performance—because we believe productivity and mental health must go hand in hand. We deliver stress-management workshops for employees and facilitate structured engagements with corporate leadership to build and sustain positive workplace cultures.
As part of this initiative, we offer two flagship programs:
Through these efforts, we aim to create workplaces that prioritize psychological safety, dignity, and long-term sustainability—contributing to a mentally healthier workforce across India.
